It's getting hot in here...

From KJ's I made my way down into Arkansas. I headed towards the city of Hot Springs where the Hot Springs National Park is located. I got into the city just after dark and navigated to the campgrounds in the park. There were around 30 sites and only 5 or 6 were taken. I found a site next to a creek and paid my $10 at the check-in cabin. I was able to set up my tent under a dim street lamp and then I moved it to a clearing closer to the creek. After I had thrown all of my sleeping stuff into the tent, I started boiling some water to prepare one of my camping dinners. After eating, it was an early night to bed.

In the morning at the campgrounds, I woke up early and got everything packed away. I headed out from there to go and find the actual hot springs that the town and park are named after. On the main street of the town there are a number of bath houses that are actually located within the park. The bath houses regulate the temperature of the water so that people are not cooking themselves in the springs. Just down the street from the houses is a fountain where the hot water is collected. This was about all I was able to locate as far as springs go, but it lent itself for some good photos.

Shortly after checking out the springs, I headed out of town to meet up with Liz and Kevin down in Houston.
